Backer AB is part of the Swedish publicly traded heating group NIBE Industrier and employs approximately 400 people in the development, manufacturing, and sales of intelligent solutions for electric heating and energy regulation. We operate in two locations in Sweden, Sösdala in Skåne and Kolbäck in Västmanland. Backer AB in Sösdala is located a 5-minute walk from the Pågatågsstation.
The unit in Sösdala also serves as the headquarters for the NIBE Element business area, which includes approximately 80 units located in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North and Central America. Our solutions are delivered to customers in various industries and serve as an important part, either in our customers' finished products or in their manufacturing processes. The demands on our solutions are high, and several of our customers are considered leaders in their respective segments. Our long-term strategy is to manufacture sustainable energy solutions of world-class quality, thereby contributing to the transition to a more sustainable society and reducing carbon footprints. ABOUT THE POSITION
As an important part of our production management team, you will play a central role and report directly to our Factory Manager. You will have personnel responsibility for approximately 12 employees. Together, you will work towards common goals and drive improvements in our manufacturing. As a production technology manager, you will act as an inspiring leader, coach, and developer for our skilled production technicians and preparation department. You will be a driving force in improving our production processes, both in existing production and in new projects, while continuously striving to elevate our standards to new heights.
YOUR TASKS
Your main task will be to streamline our operations and lead improvement activities. You will play a key role in solving process and quality-related challenges and will also be responsible for reviewing and approving instructions and reports within the production technology area.
In addition, your tasks will also include:
- Leading and planning work within your department to ensure smooth production processes.
- Conducting time studies, administering time data, and analyzing time data to optimize efficiency.
- Carefully analyzing production results and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Managing cost deviations and developing concrete activities to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Preparing and implementing new products in our production systems.
- Analyzing the need for rationalizations and suggesting methods and tools to increase efficiency.
- Creating and updating job descriptions to ensure clarity and efficiency.
- Participating in exciting project groups to introduce new products and conduct investment calculations.
YOUR COMPETENCE, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES
We are looking for someone with experience in similar tasks and a passion for leading and developing a small team within the manufacturing industry. Your competence and experience in production monitoring can preferably be in both manual and automated/robotized manufacturing.
To fit in and thrive in the role, we would like you to have the following competencies and experiences:
- Experience as a manager in a production environment where time, quality, and efficiency are critical factors.
- Competence in time studies, which gives you an advantage in optimizing processes and work methods.
- Knowledge of welding and pipe welding or experience with oven handling, annealing, and soldering is an advantage.
- Experience in conducting pay-off calculations and analyzing production flows is a significant plus.
To fit into this role, you have a background in production technology, mechanical engineering, logistics, automation, or similar. You have good experience in production technology within the manufacturing industry and have solid knowledge and experience in areas such as change management, efficiency improvement, and lean methodology.
As a person and leader, you are passionate about development and have a habit of managing continuous improvements. You achieve success by using coaching leadership. You are an analytical and structured individual who has the ability to see the big picture and apply a systematic strategy. To thrive in this role, you also need excellent social skills and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
